Let's talk about mental health
A few years ago, Natalie, a Tilray patient, bravely talked about her battle with anxiety and depression. Today we’re sharing her story once again to highlight the discussion about mental illness.
One in five Canadians will suffer from some form of mental illness at some point in their lifetime. Out of those five, nearly two-thirds won’t seek help.
Why is that? It’s possible the stigma surrounding mental illness makes people think they can’t share their struggles with others. People like Natalie are helping to change that.
To help end the stigma surrounding mental illness, educate yourself on the facts and myths to help bust stereotypes. Most of all, be kind to those folks who are suffering. Take them for coffee to talk – listen, ask questions and ensure they feel supported.
You can learn more about mental illness and how to help through the Canadian Mental Health Association. If you are in crisis, call 911 or visit your nearest emergency department.
