Measures in place at Tilray to respond to COVID-19
As a company, we are closely monitoring COVID-19 (coronavirus) to ensure the health and safety of our employees and valued patients.
Tilray has implemented safety protocols to reduce transmission of the virus. We are closely following the guidance of our federal and local government authorities, as well as global health organizations and continue to act responsibly, prioritizing the health of our patients, our team and the communities in which we operate.
In early March, Tilray followed the advice of government and public health officials and halted non-essential company travel, which means we will not participate in conferences or large gatherings until further notice.
In addition to travel restrictions, we are following guidance provided by governmental and health organizations as we all stay committed to maintaining healthy and safe workplaces in each of our locations around the world.
The precautions we have implemented internally are designed to safeguard our patients and employees but they have not impacted our ability to grow, manufacture and ship Health Canada-regulated medical cannabis. Our GMP-certified facility includes extensive cleaning and sanitation requirements, such as full gowning, gloves and masks for all workers who come in contact with products.
In the Tilray Shop, you’ll find excellent supply of our high-quality oils, capsules, whole flower and ground cannabis in a variety of THC and CBD formulations. All Tilray’s medical cannabis products are shipped directly to the comfort of your home.
It is important to note that changes from our partners may impact how you receive your medicine.
Canada Post has implemented its own safety measures that change how they deliver door-to-door items like medical cannabis that normally require a signature.
To help minimize points of close contact in the community, Canada Post will no longer request signatures for any deliveries to the door, eliminating the need for scanners and stylus pens to be passed back and forth during the delivery process of these items.
Instead, where possible, mail carriers will apply the “safe drop process.” This means they will leave these items in your mailbox or outside your door if it’s safe to do so. Where it’s not possible to safe drop, carriers will leave a notice card indicating the post office where you can pick up your items by showing proof of identity.
If you are sick or under self-isolation, you can arrange for someone to pick up these items in your place.
If you are not comfortable with your medical cannabis order left at your door, you can sign up for a FlexDelivery account that will allow you to choose your preferred postal outlet. Our Patient Services team is available by phone toll-free Monday to Friday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. (PDT) to help you update your mailing address on your Tilray account.
If your medical document is expiring soon, your clinic may have implemented telemedicine options. Be sure to check with your clinic directly. Our Patient Services team also has telemedicine options that we can share with you if you are seeking alternatives to in-person visits, or you can visit our Find A Clinic database for options near you.
We are prepared to respond and act as the situation around COVID-19 evolves. If our service levels change, we will communicate that through email and our website.
In the meantime, we should all take the same preventative measures, including the following:
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or flexed elbow when coughing or sneezing;
- Avoid contact with those who are unwell;
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds;
- Avoid touching your face;
- Stay home from work when you are sick;
- Seek medical attention early if you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing.
