World Arthritis Day 2018

Approximately 1 in 5 Canadians live with a disease that causes pain, restricts mobility and diminishes their quality of life – for which there is no found cure.

According to the Arthritis Society, arthritis is a term that encompasses more than 100 diseases characterized by inflammation in the joints or other areas of the body, causing pain and stiffness. Although arthritis can affect almost any part of the body, it’s most common in the hip, knee and spine, as well as the fingers.

On World Arthritis Day 2018, people with symptoms of arthritis are urged to get diagnosed, as early diagnosis and timely access to treatment can help prevent further damage to the body.
