Does using cannabis lead to weight gain? Not necessarily, according to new research.
In a paper published in International Journal of Epidemiology, researchers used computer-assisted personal interviews with participants to learn about their cannabis use, body weight and height during the three-year duration of the study. Results showed an inverse association between cannabis use and an increase in body-mass index, one indicator of overall health.
At the same time, medical cannabis is often used by patients suffering from chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting to help stimulate appetite. Tilray is currently partnering on a study at the University of New South Wales in Australia to better understand the efficacy of using THC and CBD
